Hi,

just think back a few years when people whispered about cancer as if it was something to be ashamed of!!

Imagine the terror and squalor of some of those cases which were hidden even from family and neighbours!

We are so much more fortunate now that people realise it is so much more prevalent and open for discussion - it is just a pernicious disease and unlike having children it isn't even sexually contracted!!!!!

Help groups like the one you have found are a huge support but some become obsessive and develope almost a secretive pleasure in ownership - I believe that we all benefit from an open and well discussed society which can then be improved rather than any individuals becoming possessive about other people's problems.

Cancer is a common disease from which many survive but some don't life is after all only a sexually transmitted fatal disease!

It is great to see people helping each other esspecially when they have survived and come back regularly to support those who are following the same path and facing the same Challenges - it is the survivors who provide help and hope , but most survivors move on giving those facing the Challenge that their expectations are worse than they really are.

Warm Hands - Regards, Greg L-W.
